Initial LFIRE raw image of the lectin microarray in situ and prior to incubation with glycoproteins. Intensity is directly proportional to the surface density of bound protein, allowing evaluation of array quality and correlation with binding measurements. The signal is converted into relative ellipsometry units (REUs), and the color bar inset establishes the relationship between color and signal intensity, which is proportional to the amount of lectin on the surface.
